Review: The Necessiteas Orange Creamsicle

necessiteas-orange-creamsic.jpgI’m really not a dessert person, nor do I have much of a sweet tooth; which is why I’m really happy for the Necessiteas’ blends. I get to enjoy things like this orange creamcicle, cherry vanilla cola and strawberry cheesecake without all the sugars and such that I don’t enjoy. These flavors are so pure that they’re reminiscent of the desserts, but also give you great flavors of orange and cream.

The orange peels are the stars in this blend dry, while the cream comes through once steeped. This dessert has always been a favorite of my Mother’s; I enjoy it in tea form. The liquor is greenish-gold in hue and smells just like a cup of cream. Upon sipping, the green tea is the star with orange and cream swirling about on the sides of the palate. It’s a very delicate and fun tea that I imagine would be even better iced on a warm summer day.

I’ve followed the Necessiteas for a number of years, and watching the company grow is a great thing to see. As Linsey creates all of her tea blends herself, everyone is sure that there are no pesticides, artificial additives, or any of the other terrifying chemicals that I’ve read about being found in tea. Recently, she’s been selling out of her teas and I can only imagine it is for this very reason. In a world of mass produced, it’s great to have a high quality tea company that’s committed to healthful teas.
